Promoting Wellbeing through Health Awareness Program in Support of Lions Club, Riska, Norway
Introduction
BHAROSA | For Better Health (BHAROSA) organised Health Awareness Classes, Health Equipment Distribution, and Train the Health Worker and First Responders program in all 6 wards; Bukhel, Manikhel, Gotikhel, Chandanpur, Kaleshwar and Thuladurlun of Mahankal Rural Municipality, Lalitpur, Nepal. The program was supported by Lions Club Riska, Norway. It was total one hour plus additional 20 mins discussion class. The program started from January 17, 2021 to January 20, 2021. We succeeded in educating 80 children, 218 adolescene and 53 adult approximately .
The participants included community people, health worker, teachers and students from Mahankal Rural Municipality. Trainer of the program included Medical Personal, Tutor and Social Worker. The health classes included lectures and discussions, hands-on’ training, working group discussions and techniques of medical tool. The classes were divided into theoretical and practical sessions. The topics covered in theoretical sessions included Oral Health, Hand Hygiene, Sexual Health, Parenting Skills, and Mental Health whereas practical session included Oral Health, Hand Hygiene, and Women and Reproductive Health. Stationery, oral, handwashing, and menstrual items were distributed after end of respective health classes. “Initiatives for Improving Health of Traumatized Victims- Women and Reproductive, Mental and Sexual Health” training were organised for government health worker. In additional, medical equipment was distributed to government health posts, government school and community house.
